Premier Medical Associate Physicians Named "Pittsburgh's 2013 Best Doctors of the Year"

PITTSBURGH, PA -- April 22, 2013 -- Premier Medical Associates (PMA) has announced that eight physicians from the organization have been selected among Pittsburgh Magazine’s 2013 ranking of “Pittsburgh’s Best Doctors of the Year.” A physician led practice, Premier is committed to a model of care that provides the highest quality care at the lowest costs.

The following providers have been recognized by their peers: 

Robert D. Beasley, D.O., was selected for his work in Family Medicine. He has been working in the Penn Hills community for more than 20 years. In addition, Dr. Beasley volunteers as medical director for Sheep Healthcare Inc., a free clinic located at the Monroeville Assembly of God Church. 

Frank Colangelo, M.D., F.A.C.P., is being honored for work in Internal Medicine. Dr. Colangelo gained his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College, and trained in Internal Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Colangelo leads quality improvement initiatives focused on providing the highest quality care for Premier patients, including a campaign to encourage colon screenings.

James S. Costlow, M.D., was chosen for his work in Internal Medicine. He has been with Premier Medical Associates for over 30 years and works in the Northern Pike and North Versailles offices. Dr. Costlow is also currently a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.

Aashish Dua, M.D., is being honored for work in Cardiology. Dr. Dua gained his medical degree from Maulana Azad Medical College in India. He was a resident at Western Pennsylvania Hospital and a fellow at Allegheny General Hospital and Western Pennsylvania Hospital. He specializes in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology at the One Monroeville Center office and is involved in an effort to screen patients for peripheral artery disease and venous insufficiency. 

Monica Dua, M.D., was chosen for her work in Internal Medicine. Dr. Dua works at the North Versailles office and obtained her medical degree from Maulana Azad Medical College in India. Dr. Dua was a resident at Western Pennsylvania Hospital and a member of the faculty there for more than ten years. In addition, she has a special interest in geriatrics and the frail elderly and is one of very few physicians in Western Pennsylvania who runs a home visit program. 

Richard N. McQuigg, M.D., was selected for his work in Internal Medicine, and works at Premier’s Northern Pike and North Versailles offices. He has been in practice for more than 25 years, and is currently a clinical instructor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.

Richard H. Rosenthal, M.D., is being recognized for his work in Internal Medicine. Dr. Rosenthal works at Premier’s North Versailles and Northern Pike locations, and is one of the original members of Premier Medical Associates.

Jeffrey P. Ubinger, M.D., was chosen for his work in Pediatric Medicine. He has been providing care to children and adolescents for 23 years and works at Premier’s Penn Crossing and Penn Hills offices. Dr. Ubinger obtained his pediatric residency training at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and is a clinical associate professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
